"I'm Not Building My House to Please You.. I'm Building It to Please Me!" |
I SENSED THE FATHER STRONGLY SAYING TO ME. "I'M NOT BUILDING MY
HOUSE TO PLEASE YOU... I'M BUILDING IT TO PLEASE ME!"
In the Spirit I heard a frustrating cry of disagreement and murmuring coming
against spiritual leadership and pastors who were placed in position this hour
to help build the
I saw a Jewish Carpenter sawing and cutting on church pews that were holding
many in a "too comfortable" position. Pulpits that pastors and
leaders were leaning on to get through their sermons were beginning to split in
half as this Carpenter was taking a sledge hammer and driving a logging wedge
through them! This unique display of carpentry work was disrupting many in the
House. From the congregation's perspective it appeared that there was trouble
in the pulpit regarding pastors and leaders. From the pulpit's point of view
the trouble seemed to be caused by the restlessness and shaking going on in the
pews. A cry of frustration was coming up out of God's House. "Lord, this
isn't making any sense down here! I sensed the Carpenter saying... "It
does from up here!"
Many within the Body of Christ began to look to one another and even to their
"intercessory prayer teams" to share their complaints concerning
things they did not understand. Their leadership and certain members were doing
things that seemed unusual or different to them. As confusion increased, I
sensed the Father strongly saying, "I'm not building My House to please
you... I'm building it to please Me!"
FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
"If I may inject my own personal experience of being in the same church
for 28 years... ( I'm not bragging, I'm boasting! )
Many times I have been found guilty of not agreeing with what was going on with
certain leadership decisions and activities of some church members. I found out
the hard way there is a place that we can go to that handles complaints and
differences concerning the building of God's house... it's the Master Carpenter
who is in charge of the "blueprint" of His own House. I found out
that for so long I was going to the wrong source for complaining, for the House
didn't belong to any of us down here but it belonged to Him!
As I began to go to the builder whose maker was God, I would say to the Lord...
"Lord, this bothers me down here with what is going on in your House. I
don't agree with so and so. I don't agree with leadership. I need to know what
"you" think about it! Nine times out of ten the Lord would speak to
me like this... "That doesn't bother Me! I sort
of like it! I like variety - that's why I never get bored!"
I sensed the Father saying. "Please don't try to fix anything in My House.
Let Me do it!"
IN A FIX
We like to fix things. We like to feel we are sort of
in control, which can become a demonic spirit. We even try to fix ourselves.
Listen... "If you get in a fix and you try to fix the fix before God fixes
it, God will fix another fix to fix you... until you let Him fix it! Many of us
feel like we are called to fix everything. Most things we try to fix are meant
to fall apart so God can pick it up!
In closing I saw the Sword of the Lord moving across the front of churches
between the congregation and pulpits, cutting off every expectation that the people
had towards their pastors and severing the expectations that pastors had
towards their congregations! These were past, present and future expectations
that could never be fulfilled by man but only by God. As these expectations
were being cut off and falling, a new hope was rising as "My expectation
cometh only from the Lord" began to fill the House with a fresh revelation
of knowing "It's not by might, nor by power but by My Spirit," says
the Lord! "Know ye not, Know ye not, you are the temples of the living
God."
A huge offering basket was being passed in God's House. We were putting in our
hammers and nails that had become weapons the enemy was using against us in
God's building program. We were being awakened to know that "Unless the
Lord builds the House, they labor in vain that build it!"
