"God Will Use The Most 'Unusual' People On Earth To
Bring Out Heaven's Best In You" |
God
Will Use The Most 'Unusual' People On Earth To Bring Out Heaven's Best In You!
I have been in the same church for thirty years. I have been crucified several
times in my own church concerning my gifting and calling. But I have discovered
that where you get crucified is not very far from where God raises you from the
dead and confirms your calling.
Many times during these thirty years the Lord has used those in authority over
me and other members around me to reach out to give me advice concerning my
prophetic gifting. I did not realize at the time that this was the Lord. I
thought it was just man messing with me and my gift. I would take it personally
and think they must not like me. I would get hurt and offended. Later on, I
learned that this is how the Lord sharpens us. He uses iron to sharpen iron,
stones to smooth stones and people to grind people.
There
Is Nothing Wrong With Your Gift; It Is From Me And
It's Perfect
Have you ever seen a picture on a wall hanging a little crooked? Is there
anything wrong with that picture? There is nothing wrong with the picture
itself - it just needs to be adjusted to show its beauty more gracefully. Have
you noticed that a picture cannot adjust itself? And neither can we. God uses the people around us to reach out to touch our
gifts and callings to ultimately bring out the best in us for Jesus to be seen.
The Lord gave me revelation on this. He said, "Bill, there is nothing
wrong with your gift; it is from Me, and it's perfect.
And there is nothing wrong with you. You are complete in Christ...but you may
need to be adjusted!"
Through time, I've learned not to take it personally when the Lord would use
someone to reach out and give advice and "constructive criticism" to
me concerning my gift and calling.
God
Uses Other People To Sharpen Us And Our Gifts
The grinding we receive from other people sharpens us and our gifts. I wouldn't
mind it if God used someone perfect in my life to adjust me. But God has chosen
for some reason the most "unusual" people in my life to do that. (I
could describe these people in more detail, but I would lose the anointing!)
We must realize that more than just refining our gift and calling, the Lord is
out to conform us to His image. Can you think of
someone right now whom you know was born with the destiny to grind you and
irritate you and rub you the wrong way? You actually need that person in your
life! (If you can't think of anyone, I have a list of names that I would be
glad to share with you.) No wonder God says to love even our enemies, for He
often uses them to shape us and drive us closer to Him...
